Grade 12 checklist: applications, aid and decisions
Senior year is about finishing well: applications in on time, aid forms complete, and a calm decision in spring.
Fall
- Finalize a balanced list of 8–12 options.
- Track every deadline in one place: college, plan, essays, scores, recommendations, status.
- Complete required financial aid forms as soon as they open.
Winter
- Apply for scholarships every month. Local ones often have fewer applicants.
- Practise interviews out loud.
Spring
- Compare offers by total cost, academic fit and support, not prestige alone.
- Plan the summer before college or work: money, housing, skills.
