How to find and win scholarships
Scholarships reward effort as much as grades. The students who win most are the ones who apply consistently.
Where to look
- The financial aid pages of the colleges you are considering.
- Local organizations, employers, community groups and foundations.
- Your school counselor's list.
- Scholarships tied to your interests, field of study or service.
How to win
- Apply to a few every month instead of many in a rush.
- Reuse and adapt strong essays, but answer each question directly.
- Show impact with numbers: hours, people helped, results.
- Never pay to apply for a scholarship.
