Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
This policy explains what information Global Yuva LLC (“Global Yuva”, “we”) collects on globalyuva.org and our app, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We wrote it in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to us at gyuva2026@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, username, email address, password (stored encrypted), and, for students, stage or grade, school, country, age group and a parent or guardian’s email.
- What you add to your account: Student Track entries (scores, practice results, volunteer hours, leadership roles, college list, essays, costs, notes), your College Application Profile, course progress, quiz results and certificates.
- Mentor applications: expertise, organization, availability, services and the information you choose to share.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep order records (what was bought, when, amount).
- Messages and forms: newsletter sign-ups, roadmap emails you request, testimonials you submit and emails you send us.
- “Ask the Guide” questions: the questions you type are sent to our AI provider to generate an answer. We do not save them to your account.
- Technical information: basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept by our hosting provider for security, and cookies that keep you signed in.
- Stored only in your browser: some tools (for example the study-abroad checklists, your chosen state and roadmap choices) save only in your own browser. We do not receive that information.
How we use it
- To run your account and the tools you use, and to save your progress.
- To show progress to a linked parent or guardian, and to approved mentors working with the student.
- To send emails you need (welcome, certificates, roadmaps you request) and newsletters you choose to receive.
- To process payments, prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
- To improve our courses and tools, using information in a form that does not identify you.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising based on students’ information.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run Global Yuva, and only for that purpose:
- Hostinger (website hosting and database)
- Stripe (payments)
- SendLayer (sending email)
- Anthropic (answers to “Ask the Guide” questions)
- Google Fonts (website fonts, which may receive your IP address)
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of students and others.
Children under 13
For a child under 13, a parent or legal guardian must create the account and give consent. We then email the parent to confirm. Until the parent confirms, nothing the child writes is saved to the account. We collect only what the tools need, and we do not use children’s information for advertising.
A parent can, at any time, see their child’s information, download it, ask us to stop collecting it, or delete the account: sign in with the parent account and use Data and privacy in Student Track, or email gyuva2026@gmail.com.
Your choices and rights
- See and download your data: Student Track → Data and privacy → Download.
- Correct it: edit your account and profile at any time.
- Delete your account and saved work: Student Track → Data and privacy → Delete this account. Some records (for example payment records) may be kept where the law requires.
- Unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in any newsletter.
Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom, India or California), you may have additional rights. Contact us and we will respond within the time the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while the account is active. If you delete your account, we delete its saved data from our live systems; copies in backups are removed as backups expire (within about 14 days). Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, limited staff access and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
International visitors
Global Yuva is based in the United States. Your information is processed by us and our service providers, which may store it in the United States or other countries.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. For important changes we will tell account holders by email.
